An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life...

"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves.

"One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt, and ego.

"The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.

"This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"

The old chief simply replied, "The one you feed."

I am watching Andrea Bocelli live in Central Park and struggle to understand how there can be such beauty in the world along side the ugliness of man as found in selfish greed and war.

Wow! What inspiration to be better. Thank you Andrea Bocelli, David Foster, Chris Botti and the NY Philharmonic.

1864 - The Sand Creek Massacre occurred in Colorado when a militia led by Colonel John Chivington, killed at least 400 peaceful Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians who had surrendered and had been given permission to camp.

At one time I read a diary by a man who lived in the area of this slaughter. One of the saddest days for all of mankind. A horrific travesty!
